TOLMAR Inc. Vice President Engineering And Facilities in Windsor, Colorado
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Direct all aspects of engineering, maintenance, validation, EHS, and facilities operations including long-term planning, fiscal and budget management Collaborate with Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality and other organizations to provide engineering support to meet the specific design requirements necessary for the successful introduction of new products. Responsible for the evaluation of facility, laboratory, manufacturing, packaging and warehousing equipment to support a variety of company initiatives Provide equipment technical maintenance oversight and direction to in-house manufacturing and contract manufacturing clients. Ensure that products, facilities and equipment are built and remain in a constant state of validation and cGMP compliance. Maintain overall responsibility for successful completion of all facilities construction projects. Serve as a member of the executive management team by participating in the overall strategic direction of the company. Promote a positive work environment by providing clear direction on corporate goals. Mentor directors/managers in leadership, career and succession planning. Continuously evaluate new pharmaceutical facility and process equipment technologies for Company products and facilities. Ensure the effective use of materials, equipment and personnel in the engineering activities to ensure operations are cost effective. Ensure successful equipment upgrades from design and fabrication through implementation, maintenance and qualification. Develop systems for Process, Equipment and Facilities engineering reporting and ensure accurate and timely reporting of critical information, in coordination with Production Maintenance. Oversee the Validation process for all facilities, equipment, and system validation processes including CSV. Serve as a key Subject Matter Expert during internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory agency inspections. Direct the facilities organization to include providing evaluation and direction for the facilities preventative maintenance systems. Direct the EHS function to ensure multi-level government compliance. Develop and work with EHS to own the safety strategy and initiatives. Manage facility and property security. Responsible for real estate management for leased and owned buildings, including lease negotiation, lease management, liaising with real estate brokers, being the POC for building owners, and assessing future footprint options Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Exceptional business acumen, leadership, organizational, and communication competencies. Advanced working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), FDA, EU and other International regulations. Thorough knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and market conditions related to the organization. Ability to influence others, to change thinking, or gain acceptance/agreement by others on issues of significant importance to the company and/or sensitive situations. Ability to apply logic to a wide range of abstract and practical problems faced in the context of business and to problem-solve possible resolutions and outcomes. Project management skills, project budgeting and contract administration, and an ability to multi-task and prioritize frequently changing needs. Knowledge in principles and practices of facility planning, construction and building maintenance. Proven negotiation skills in construction environment and equipment acquisition. Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and organizational skills. Proven skill in effective management and leadership. Ability to analyze complex development problems and propose and implement a creative solution. Ability to anage multiple projects. Ability to create and manage departmental budget. Working knowledge of Preventative Maintenance and Reliable Maintenance Programs.

Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university required. Advanced degree preferred. Ten or more years of leadership experience in an engineering management role of increasing responsibility the pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical device or healthcare environment.
