Windham Mountain Resort LIFT OPERATIONS MANAGER in Windham, New York
Overview of Position: This position is responsible for the overall operation of all lifts (chairlifts and carpets) here at Windham Mountain Club, including hiring, scheduling, training, and supervising all lift operations staff that includes Lift Ops Supervisor, Lead Operators and Lift Operators. This is a key position in assuring the safe operations of all lifts while delivering exceptional experiences for employees, members and guests.
Job Duties: The list below best represents many tasks you will be asked to perform at some time during your employment here at Windham Mountain Club, although as we cannot predict all the challenges that may be faced in providing exceptional guest experiences, you may be asked to perform other tasks as necessary.
Perform manager functions including recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, reviewing and terminating staff as needed.
Prepare and maintain an accurate annual operating budget.
Manage staff scheduling and payroll to budget that correlates hours with expected guest volume.
Manage the promotion or selection of Lift Supervisor and Lead Operators.
Responsible for completion of all required ANSI and New York State required Lift Operations reports.
Ensure all lift operators are properly trained in (and appropriately documented) and consistently perform correctly in the following areas:
Opening and Closing procedures
Ramp maintenance
Staff and Guest Safety and Service
RFID Ticket Process
Loading
Corral set-up and break-down
Crowd control
Care of Lift Ops buildings and equipment
Operational considerations working the top and bottom of various lifts
Communicate regularly with grooming and snowmaking to assure the best possible ramp conditions.
Partner with Ski Patrol and Safety Staff for assistance at top and bottom of lifts as needed.
Complete all post lift incident investigations and reports.
Ensure Windham Mountain Club employees, members and guests have exceptional lift experiences.
Job Qualifications:
Must have 3+ prior years’ experience in lift operations. Prior supervisory or manager experience highly preferred. Experience in lift mechanics helpful.
Must have strong supervisory, organizational and management skills.
Must be able to handle stressful, noisy, crowded and distracting situations.
Must be comfortable interacting with both guests and employees in a friendly and helpful manner.
Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Must be able to make decisions and to motivate and direct others.
Must have strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Must be able to sustain adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs repetitively, ie; shoveling, bending, pulling, squatting
