Position Summary
This position is an entry level role in the plastics injection molding and tooling operation. The role is to learn while doing assigned tasks; to serve and assist the plastic tooling technician, press operators and related functions to support safe, accurate, and timely preventive maintenance, and diagnostic troubleshooting of plastic injection tooling. This position also assists with maintaining accurate data in spare parts inventory plan for plastics tooling.
Position Responsibilities
Perform and assist with Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities on injection molds
Clean and prepare molds
Learn to change out inserts and date codes per schedule; perform tasks guidance until mastery achieved
Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of tooling area
Work closely with Toolmaker or other assigned expert to learn how to execute repairs
Assist with maintenance of tool PM information using Fix maintenance service request program
Set Up and put away outgoing and incoming mold kits for changeovers
Maintain inventory of molds
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
Previous experience in a plastic injection molding or machining operation; minimum 6 to 12 months.
Demonstrates basic understanding of injection mold press operation.
Material handling experience as demonstrated by current company forklift operator certification OR able to successfully earn forklift certification within 3 months of placement.
Ability to take initiative in the problem-solving process.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and supportive to meet changing work demands.
Knowledge of MS Office Applications required. Working knowledge of Excel preferred.
Mechanical Aptitude and previous experience working with tools and machinery
Education and Certification
