A Caring Heart Case Management is seeking a Vocational *Rehabilitation Specialist* to join our dedicated team. This position focuses on supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in achieving meaningful employment, skill development, and independence through vocational training and job placement services.

As a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, you will develop and implement individualized vocational plans, assist clients in identifying strengths and job preferences, and provide on-the-job coaching to support successful employment and skill development. You'll coordinate with employers and community partners to create inclusive job opportunities, train clients on workplace expectations, and monitor progress through detailed documentation. Collaborating with case managers and families, you will advocate for clients' rights, address workplace challenges, and lead group activities and workshops to enhance employability skills. Staying informed on labor trends and policies, youll ensure clients achieve meaningful employment and long-term success.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about empowering individuals, experienced in vocational programs, and skilled in developing community partnerships to create employment opportunities.

About this Position (Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist)

  • Develop and implement individualized vocational training plans based on client goals and abilities.
  • Assist clients in identifying strengths, interests, and job preferences through assessments and career exploration activities.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and skill-building to ensure successful job placement and retention.
  • Coordinate with employers and community partners to create job opportunities and foster inclusive work environments.
  • Train and educate clients on workplace expectations, safety practices, and soft skills (e.g., communication, teamwork, punctuality).
  • Monitor client progress and maintain detailed documentation to track outcomes and performance.
  • Collaborate with case managers, families, and support staff to promote a person-centered approach.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and assist in resolving workplace challenges or barriers.
  • Organize and supervise vocational group activities and workshops to enhance employability skills.
  • Stay updated with local labor markets, employment trends, and relevant policies affecting the IDD population.
