The Wilson, NC site is seeking a highly motivated, driven, results-oriented Sr. Industrial Engineer to support the recovery and transformation of an existing fire detection line. What You Will Do:

  • Maintain and improve capacity models and drive corrective actions to close gaps in an effort to recover overdue.

  • Develop and implement manufacturing standard work and conduct employee training for new standard work to increase parts put into stock.

  • Take an active role in finding process improvements to the nonconforming material process to reduce QN Turnaround Time and Volume.

  • Streamline routings and work instructions for ease of understanding, accuracy and process flow.

  • Develop and optimize factory layout for assembly equipment. Implement cell layout improvements that have been made to address bottlenecks and install equipment that has already been purchased.

  • Establish, maintain, and improve labor standards and work centers in routings.

  • Develop value stream maps. Analyze and evaluate existing systems and processes, identifying value-added and non-value-added activities

  • Maintain Process Flow Diagrams when a change in the process is made or draft when it does not exist.

  • Collect, analyze, and implement root cause corrective actions for Turnbacks tracked by operations.

  • Perform part family analysis and analyze the product flow process

  • Document waste in processing by drafting spaghetti diagrams

  • Perform time studies, takt time calculations, capacity analysis and line balancing

  • Identify areas of improvement and ensure measurable implementation and execution.

  • Manage and conduct employee training for productivity improvement projects and mentor fellow engineers and technicians.

  • Plan, lead, and execute the implementation of the CORE Operating System.

  • Work cross functionally to achieve success and support site level improvements targets and macro plan milestones

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • Continuous Improvement / Root Cause Experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in capacity management

  • Standard work experience

  • Experience in value stream mapping

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • SAP and Solumina business system experience

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
