Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager in the public sector, based in Wilmington, North Carolina. This role involves overseeing tax-related activities within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing accounting functions. The position is in a fast-paced work environment and requires proficiency in a range of accounting software systems and expert knowledge in tax accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee tax planning to optimize tax obligations and ensure compliance with tax laws

• Manage the preparation and review of complex tax returns and corporate tax compliance

• Use Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, CCH ProSystem Fx, and CCH Sales Tax for various accounting tasks

• Implement ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems to improve tax-related processes

• Carry out auditing tasks to verify the accuracy of financial information

• Develop strategies for entity formation to minimize tax liability

• Manage income tax accounting and ensure it aligns with the organization's financial goals

• Handle estate tax matters and prepare estate tax returns

• Use your expertise in corporate tax compliance to guide the organization's tax strategies

• Regularly review and update accounting functions to ensure they meet current standards and regulations. Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Experienced in using CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax

• Knowledgeable in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Skilled in various Accounting Functions

• Has experience in Auditing

• Strong understanding of Compliance procedures

• Experience in Entity Formation

• Background in Income Tax Accounting

• Capable of handling Complex Tax Return

• Proficient in Corporate Tax Compliance

• Knowledgeable in Estate Tax and Estate Tax Return
