Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

  • Associate's or Bachelor'sdegree in nursing.

  • Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Associationrequired.

  • One-yearof acute nursing experiencerequired.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course isrequiredprior to reactivating or reinstating your license.In order tobe considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Responsibilities

  • Performs nursing assessments to gather data andidentifythe patient’s needs for this episode of care per ANA standards and NCBON.

  • Develop and implement an individualizednursing care planwith the patient and family that will address the patient’s and family’s identified needs and concerns.

  • Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in coordinating the plan of care andfacilitatingpatient outcomes.

  • Ensures that patients are admitted,transferred,and discharged in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Demonstrates leadership by providing information as a resource nurse, mentor coach,and delegator of nursing care activities.

  • Documentsassessments, delivery of care, and patient’s response to care in the medical record.

  • Demonstrates accountability for ongoing learning needs and completion of annual education requirements and competencies.
