GAF Material Handling Associate in Wilmington, North Carolina

Essential Duties
Receives orders from supervisor or assistant foreman. Must safely Operate sit-down forklift or walkie-rider to pull and properly stack orders on pallet.
Responsible for Proficiently operation hand-held scanning devices to scan merchandise from bin locations to the order using Warehouse Management Inventory System.
Accurately records daily activities and daily control sheets. Accurately fills out trailer manifest and related shipping documents in a timely manner. Responsible for reporting inventory issues in a timely manner.
Must meet established efficiency standards on a daily and ongoing basis.
Request maintenance orders be written for machine or safety problems or hazards.
Must adhere to all plant safety, quality, production and efficiency standards.
Responsible for ongoing housekeeping throughout the shift and immediately reporting any unsafe conditions to supervisor or assistant foreman.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to routinely communicate information with/to other team members in a professional manner; will frequently stand and walk; exercise use of both hands to handle objects and to reach, tools and controls; will routinely stoop, bend and reach into bin baskets on floor; must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications Required
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
6 months prior manufacturing experience in a fast paced environment. Required
Prior UPS Worldship experience Preferred
Available to work overtime on short notice, nights, holidays and weekends.
Prior Working Knowledge of Bar Coded Inventory management system desirable.
Ability to communicate, both written and orally, by means of radio or telephone, computer problems, product shortages, and other order issues.
Basic math skills addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Performs assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to differentiate various stock items and product differences.
Ability to operator a sit-down forklift and walkie rider.
Ability to work cooperatively and to conduct oneself in a professional manner in the course of performing the job.
