Purpose of Job:

The inside sales engineer will be responsible for interacting with customers in response to quotations, order processing, and technical support in a expeditious, accurate, and courteous manner. The insides sales engineer will support the sales force’s strategic initiatives of driving revenue growth under direction of management, engineering, and operations. Ultimately the insides sales representative will facilitate daily sales activities in a simple, efficient, and effective process – with a positive attitude!

Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:

  • Provide timely response to inquiries for price, delivery, and product information.

  • Preparing formal quotations, processing sales orders, and creating pick tickets. Provide alternate products and solutions to meet customer design or time constraints.

  • Respond to customer return requests, create and process RMA forms, handle initial quality concern related communications with the customer.

  • Provide light duty application work including sizing and compatibility.

  • Follow direction of leadership as related to inventory management and operating model core values.

  • Collaborate with management and sales colleagues to identify development opportunities.

  • Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and the warehouse personnel as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Enclosed office

  • Protected outdoor or enclosed warehouse (required to utilize proper PPE in shop environment)

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Demonstrated Experience

Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years of professional selling experience preferred

Skills:

  • Detail oriented and strong organization skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to the sales role

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

  • Capable of learning and using QuickBooks and/or other ERP systems

  • Mechanical aptitude

Physical Demands:

  • While performing duties of the job, employee is required to move around and be still; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

  • Employee will occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
