Job Title: Environmental Technician (Laborer)

Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team. This role involves traveling throughout the greater Philadelphia area. The technician will work on environmental and remediation sites, performing essential duties and responsibilities related to environmental compliance and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general environmental duties on remediation sites

  • Prepare waste and documents; conduct regulatory and safety reviews

  • Manage environmental inventory using software and computerized tracking systems

  • Learn and retain basic knowledge of daily work practices

  • Become familiar with packaging guidelines and disposal facility selection

  • Communicate effectively with project managers and fellow employees to solve complex issues

  • Demonstrate supervisory leadership abilities through interaction with coworkers

  • Demonstrate creativity and problem-solving abilities

  • Perform general maintenance of the grounds and job site as needed

Essential Skills

  • 1 year of experience working outdoors on environmental sites

  • HAZWOPPER OSHA 40 Preferred

  • Ability to use and operate environmental testing equipment

  • Ability to work outside and overtime hours

  • Experience with troubleshooting, remediation, hand and power tools, and safety procedures

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfortable performing general duties as an entry-level environmental technician

  • Ability to assist project managers or project assistants with job site maintenance

  • Experience with document control or data entry of environmental data

  • Willingness to dig up old gas/oil tanks and perform remedial construction

Work Environment

This position involves working outdoors on environmental remediation sites, which may include hazardous and non-hazardous soil excavation, remediation treatment system installations, groundwater treatment system maintenance, ecological construction, landfill capping and closures, gas plant remediation, surface decontamination, and contaminated surface management. Start times may vary, and the role involves hopping in company vehicles to travel to various sites.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
