Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Job Description

The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for routine and emergency repair of industrial electrical systems. This role involves troubleshooting electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment to detect and effect required maintenance repairs or replacement requirements. Additionally, the Industrial Electrician will perform maintenance and repair of generators, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, electrical motors, distribution panels, alarm and lighting circuits. They will conduct insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine their condition and effect repairs or replacements as required. The role also includes maintaining adequate inventories of electrical spare parts and requisitioning replacements as needed, as well as maintaining electrical system maintenance histories, notating the date and extent of repairs and/or alterations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment.

  • Perform maintenance and repair of generators, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, electrical motors, distribution panels, alarm and lighting circuits.

  • Conduct insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine condition and effect repairs or replacements as required.

  • Maintain adequate inventories of electrical spare parts and requisition replacements as necessary.

  • Maintain electrical system maintenance histories, notating date and extent of repairs and/or alterations.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5+ years of experience as an industrial electrician.

  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens & Allen Bradley).

  • Ability to repair gearboxes and motors.

  • Experience working with electrical systems up to 480 volts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
