Job Title: Apprentice Sprinkler Technician
Job Description
An entry-level fire sprinkler installer/technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role is crucial for ensuring fire safety and compliance with local and national fire codes.
Responsibilities
Measure, cut, and install piping, valves, and control systems for fire sprinkler systems.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure systems are functioning correctly.
Test systems for leaks and proper operation, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards.
Diagnose and repair issues with fire sprinkler systems, including emergency service calls.
Maintain accurate records of all work performed and report to supervisors.
Essential Skills
Basic understanding of plumbing and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments.
Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Basic mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
Experience with hand and power tools.
Completion of a vocational training program or apprenticeship in fire sprinkler installation (to be obtained after starting).
State certification or licensure as required (to be obtained after starting).
Experience in a trade school plumbing program is beneficial but not required.
