Robert Half Medical Receptionist in Williamsville, New York

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Receptionist. The role is ideal for a candidate adept at handling administrative tasks within a fast-paced healthcare setting and can comfortably use medical software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and direct all visitors, including vendors, clients, and customers to the appropriate personnel or department.

• Ensure the completion of necessary paperwork by visitors and maintain the sign-in records.

• Implement security procedures to safeguard the workplace and guarantee the safety of all visitors.

• Handle special administrative projects as required, which may include assisting other department and executive assistants.

• Utilize medical software for efficient record-keeping and management of patient data.

• Perform receptionist duties, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a welcoming environment.

• Liaise with insurance companies for patient claims and inquiries.

• Provide support in maintaining accurate and efficient patient records.

• Address customer inquiries regarding their credit accounts and resolve issues promptly.

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take action to collect delinquent payments when necessary.

Requirements • Proficiency in using medical software for tasks such as patient scheduling, record keeping and billing

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis tasks

• Familiarity with insurance policies and procedures, including billing and claim handling

• Prior experience in receptionist duties, such as greeting patients, answering phone calls, and managing appointments

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, medical staff, and insurance representatives

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare industry practices

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

• High attention to detail and accuracy in all administrative tasks

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High school diploma or equivalent, with further training in medical administration being a plus.
