Your Opportunity + Impact The CAD Manager is responsible for overseeing the CAD (Computer-Aided Design) function within the Digital Practice and ensuring the effective utilization of CAD software and technologies across all projects. The CAD Manager will be responsible for establishing CAD standards and workflows and provide technical support to project teams to optimize design efficiency and accuracy. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in CAD software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop and enforce CAD standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality in design documentation Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to establish CAD project requirements and workflows. Provide technical support and training to CAD users on software applications, tools, and techniques. Oversee the creation and maintenance of CAD drawings, models, and documentation for projects. Coordinate with external consultants and subcontractors to exchange CAD files and ensure compatibility and accuracy. Working with the IT Department, lead the implementation of CAD software updates, configurations, and customizations to improve productivity and efficiency. Conduct regular reviews and audits of CAD files and drawings to identify errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement. Manage CAD software licenses, subscriptions, and maintenance agreements. Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in CAD and design software. Create and maintain a training community on the corporate intranet where standards are centrally located, and questions can be asked/answered. Implement BIM-based collaboration tools and workflows to facilitate communication and coordination among project stakeholders. Act as a liaison between project teams, clients, and management to advocate for the benefits of BIM and promote its adoption. Assist with the coordination of material libraries, keyed notes, schedules and extracting and communication modeled data for use in project management, specification coordination, and construction administration. Education and Experience Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred, Associates or Technical Degree minimum. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the architecture and engineering industry related to building and site drawing standards, requirements and project execution. Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and other CAD-related software. Strong knowledge and understanding of software and supporting software plug-ins.
