Description
Robert Half is looking for a controller for a growing manufacturing Northern Kentucky based company. The controller is responsible for the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, bank and cash reconciliations and financial statement preparation. Essential Functions:
Reporting
Manage and direct the month end closing process for all US/UK locations.
Target 5 day close
Oversee monthly consolidating report including income statement/balance sheet/cash flows/forecast including equity roll forward
Oversee daily cash monitoring and all bank accounts
Assist in preparation of the month end reporting package
Analyze and explain monthly results to Executive management team
Understand and explain variances to prior year and budget
Calculate and/or review all bank covenant tests
Management
Lead and direct the US and UK finance teams
Develop individual objectives and provide regular feedback
Manage outsourced accounting staff (India)
Form close relationships with management team members
Control/Compliance
Develop the company’s accounting procedures (manual)
Ensure the financial systems support the activities of the business
Develop and explain the annual budget
Prepare forecasts as requested
Manage the annual company audit and develop schedules as required
Conduct balance sheet reviews
Assist Cost Accounting Manager in developing inventory control and valuation procedures
Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role within the Manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in 3M software is required.
• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems is a must.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is necessary.
• Must have experience with CRM systems.
• Knowledge of Crystal Reports is required.
• Proficient in various Accounting Functions.
• Must have hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP).
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.
• Auditing experience is a requisite for this role.
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is needed.
• Proficiency in NetSuite software is required.
• Experience in Global Manufacturing is a must.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is necessary.
• Previous work experience in a Manufacturing Company is required.
• Must have experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting.
