Tool Control Attendant B- 2nd shift

Description

Job Summary:

Requires moving, storing, delivering and marking tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, blocks and templates. May also require the coordination of special projects and working dead bench and/or penalty box shortages.

Job Responsibilities:

Plans and performs a sequence of operations to coordinate tool requirements and schedules with production departments. Issues, delivers, receives and stores tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, blocks and templates. Requires the ability to work from detailed instructions and use applied judgment in the movement of tools.

• Maintains required documentation, including any required forms for tool transactions, which must be entered into the computer record.

• Recommend solutions for tool control, storage, capacity maximization, and delivery procedures.

• Coordinate and solve discrepancies in shop procedures and tool locations; locate lost or missing dead bench/penalty box tools.

• Visually inspect tools for damage and/or missing details and take the appropriate action.

• Proficient in SAP utilizing a variety of transactions.

• Assist with required personnel training programs and assist lower grade Tool Control Attendants and perform other related duties as required.

• Assist in developing new procedures when necessary and recommend solutions for tool control, storage, capacity maximization, and delivery procedures.

• Expedite "Dead Bench" "Penalty Box" shortages.

Qualifications

Education:

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Requires basic computer skills and the use of simple arithmetic and measuring instruments. Must obtain and maintain all necessary training and licensing related to transportation or tool moving equipment as it relates to job functions. Tool moving equipment is defined as, but is not limited to; Fork-lift, Stock Chaser, Tug and Truck or Van, etc.

Experience:

Requires a minimum of three (3) years of Textron tool control and storage experience. SAP knowledge and forklift experience also required.

Working Conditions:

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
