Position Specific Responsibilities
The National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) is a fast-growing area withinWSU.NIARis known globally for our expertise in the most critical areas of aerospace research and development.\ \
The Advanced Materials Research group is looking for an Education and Workforce Development Leader with a background in education and extensive knowledge in advanced manufacturing to join their team. This position will be based in Wichita, KS with the potential ability to work remotely, working closely with both engineers atNIARand directly with the government and industry customer base.\ \
As part of theWSUmission, our team is focused on integrating advanced manufacturing capabilities to rapidly qualify applications leveraging NIARs machines, manufacturing, expertise, and engineering. Through this mission, a key component is developing integrated curriculum that supports our partnerships and promotes adoption of these technologies.
Summary of Responsibilities
Develops, scales and promotes education and training to industry and/or government partners related to the area of expertise and respective laboratory.
Essential Functions
- Assesses needs for training to support operations and adoption of new technologies through various communications including virtual and on-site meetings.
- Plans, creates, implements, and/or delivers curriculum including, but not limited to, topics, instructors, overall curriculum, and outcomes, in partnership with internal and external partners.
- Promotes training through collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Responsible for training program execution and implementation at various locations.
- Partners with the leadership team and stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities for growth and development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
