Johnson Controls Maintenance and Facilities Engineer - 1st Shift in Wichita, Kansas

Johnson Controls’ Wichita operation designs, builds and distributes around one million pieces of residential heating and cooling equipment every year. Johnson Controls Wichita builds and assembles some of the biggest HVAC brands in the industry, including York, Luxaire, Coleman, Champion and Guardian.

The primary manufacturing campus sits on 63 acres with a total of 1.3 million square feet. It has also translated into large employment growth in Wichita, where its workforce is around 950 employees. The Wichita manufacturing facility is the largest non-aircraft manufacturing plant in Wichita.

What you will do

The Maintenance and Facilities Engineer will serve as the liaison between the Wichita Maintenance team and Johnson Control’s third-party Facilities maintenance provider, CBRE Group, regarding all Facilities maintenance activities and ensures maintenance responsiveness with site service contract.

How you will do it

  • Serve as the liaison between the Wichita Maintenance department and CBRE Group. Maintain day-to-day communications and interactions with vendor and oversee the execution of Facilities related projects, initiatives and budget.

  • Analyze, plan and coordinate complex work orders to install, maintain, repair and modify facilities, machines and equipment with 3rd party vendors and contractors.

  • Initiate work order requests with CBRE Group and update status of work orders on a regular basis.

  • Schedule and lead pre/post Facilities preventive maintenance.

  • Communicate and coordinate resolution of safety issues with Site Management and EHS/OHS team.

  • Follow all safety and environmental procedures and policies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in industrial Manufacturing Maintenance and/or Facilities Maintenance OR an Associate degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in industrial Manufacturing Maintenance and/or Facilities Maintenance OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of successful experience working with third-party Facilities maintenance providers and vendors.

  • Experience developing, implementing and managing a robust Facilities preventive maintenance program.

  • Experience facilitating and managing capital projects.

  • Ability to work 1st shift (7:30AM-5:00PM, Monday – Friday) as well as overtime as needed.

  • Proficiency using MS Office and SAP.
