Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

We have 2 openings for Machinists on the 3rd shift, Monday to Friday (12am-7am), paid for 8 hours of work. The pay range is $25-29/hr based on experience. As a Machinist, you will manufacture quality products in CNC machining centers, change materials and tools as required, and inspect products using the appropriate tools. You will also complete necessary paperwork for tracking product cost and movement. You will utilize shop orders, setup documents, and customer-provided drawings to ensure production, quality, and efficiency. You must operate all machines in the area without assistance and be proficient in the use of all measuring tools required for the job. This is a nonexempt, hourly, full-time position that reports directly to the Production Manager.

Hard Skills

• Knowledge of CNC machining

• Experience in commercial and/or aerospace manufacturing

• Basic computer skills

• Knowledge of G and M codes

• 5 Axis Machining on mills

• Aluminum high-speed machining

• Performing set-ups on Controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Mazatrol, etc.)

• Micrometers

• Calipers

• Height Gauges

Soft Skills

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

• Use of measuring instruments

• Making adjustments to setups and processes

• Determination of cutting tool needs

• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment

• Following safety protocols

• Documentation of shop loss procedures

• Clocking in/out accurately

• Using adequate lifting equipment

• Participating in safety trainings/meetings

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Collaborative teamwork

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 18 Week(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Wichita, Kansas.

Work Environment

You will work in a climate-controlled, air-conditioned shop floor with exposure to water-soluble coolants and loud machinery. Steel toe boots are required.
