  • The Controller is a key leader on the leadership team contributing to all areas of plant management and providing strong financial leadership. The Controller is responsible for managing the financial performance of operations, reporting on performance, measuring returns on projects, planning and coordinating plant budget, and business planning activities in alignment with policies and practices.
  • Manage all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements, budget to actual comparisons by division.
  • Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions.
  • Prepares cash forecast weekly, provides sales budget to actual weekly, and provides senior leadership with other forecasts as needed to manage business.
  • Works across organization boundaries and with all levels of company to achieve plant and organizational objectives.
  • Identifies process improvement in finance organization and implements. Supports process improvement across organization and determines financial impact to prioritize improvement.
  • Integrates and trains new staff while leading the continued professional development of the existing team.
  • Provides proactive/unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders to drive better business decisions.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership, directors team, accounting team, and management team to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead development of complex analysis.
  • Monitor and implement internal controls as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risk.
  • Manage annual review process with CPA firm.
  • Ensure accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as statutory requirements.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and general ledger processes.
  • Manage closing tasks to meet the 5-day closing target.
  • Prepare financial reporting and analysis to assess performance of the company.
  • Manage finance department projects with milestone tracking and provide status updates to CFO.
  • Manage preparation of supporting information for annual insurance renewal.
  • Identify and implement process improvement in Finance department.
  • Train new staff and manage professional development for existing staff.
  • Support internal departments with data to report key performance indicators.
  • Manage preparation for annual review.
