Job Title: Safety Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for a Safety Specialist for a 12-14 month project at McConnell Air Force Base. This role involves overseeing safety protocols on a data center job on base, maintaining electrical and data systems while new ones are built. This position requires adherence to the new EM-385 standards, which includes 3 levels of Safety Professionals. Key responsibilities include leading efforts in creating Site Specific Safety Plans, coordinating with the project team to establish a safe working environment, and conducting site safety meetings.

Hard Skills

• Knowledge of EM-385 standards

• Experience in creating Site Specific Safety Plans

• Conducting and coordinating safety meetings

• Issuing and assisting with safety permits (Hot work, LOTO, Trenching, Confined Space)

• Planning high-risk activities

• Reviewing and signing off on crane pick plans, confined space entry plans

• Conducting Site Safety Audits

• Ensuring compliance with OSHA, state, and site-specific regulations

• Supervising subcontractor activities

• Ensuring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Collecting and recording data and pertinent information

• Ensuring PPE and safety equipment are stocked and available

Soft Skills

• Strong coordination and communication skills

• Ability to work as a liaison between the client and the team on safety issues

• Detail-oriented approach to safety audits and compliance

• Up-to-date knowledge of industry rules, regulations, and standards

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 14 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas.

Work Environment

The role is based on a data center job site at MAFB, requiring coordination with various teams to maintain a safe working environment. Regular site safety audits, safety meetings, and compliance checks are integral parts of the job.
