Textron Aircraft Maintenance Inspector in Wichita, Kansas
JOB SUMMARY:
To perform and maintain proper inspection standards, methods and procedures used by the Service Center in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturer's recommendations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures proper procedures are performed on all completed work and physically inspects aircraft, components, reviews related documentation to ensure workmanship meets acceptable Textron Aviation Quality standards, and applicable Federal regulations for final return to service and airworthiness determination.Performs the following as delegated by the Supervisor or Lead Inspector:Maintains a current file of FAA specifications, certificate data sheets and airworthiness directives.Makes periodic checks on all tooling, including calibration of precision test equipment as outlined in the Overhaul Manuals and the FAA Repair Station Manuals. Ensures no defective or unairworthy parts are installed on any product released by the Service Center.Inspects and accepts all incoming material, i.e. new parts, supplies, and repaired parts from contract service per the quality and repair station manuals.Ensures proper tagging and identification of all parts during the maintenance process.Evaluates inspection records, reports, forms, and procedures for compliance to Quality standards.Uses Textron and Vendor Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Manual, Structural Repair Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, EEDS/DDS, and other approved technical publications.Develops familiarity with Required Inspection Item (RII) requirements, part 135 requirements and understands the requirements and use of the Master Equipment List (MEL).Performs periodic aircraft walkaround surveys for tracking of proper usage of all forms as well as the surrounding area to be free of any known hazards.Understand and organize the required aircraft inspections and maintaining of files with completed work orders and inspection forms in an efficient system for easy review by supervisor or Lead Inspector. EDUCATION:
High School education or equivalent is required.Requires use of arithmetic, blueprints, and specifications plus knowledge of jet and piston airframe and engine principles and mechanical systems.A&P License required.
EXPERIENCE:
Requires minimum of 3 years diversified A&P mechanic experience on jet and turboprop 100 hour and annual service experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.
