UW - WHITEWATER User Services Student Supervisor in WHITEWATER, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job ID: 21090 INTRODUCTION: The University Library at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a User Services Student Supervisor & Outreach (Library Assistant III, LM010). JOB DUTIES: This is a 1.0 FTE position and provides overall service and direction to the inclusive outreach efforts of the University Library, including events, programming and other campus/community collaborations in support of the Library and University goals. The position coordinates the hiring and scheduling of student employees in User Services. This position collaborates in the supervision and training of User Services student employees. The position works closely with and reports to the User Services Librarian. The position works collaboratively with User Services staff to support Library outreach initiatives. Responsibilities also involve providing services at the Circulation Desk, including circulation of materials and general customer service. Student Supervision -Responsible for the management of student employees in User Services -Develops and maintains User Services student employee schedules -Collaborates with User Services staff to assign student employee work responsibilities -Reviews and approves User Services student employee timesheets according to payroll schedule -Coordinates the hiring of student employees for User Services -Coordinates with Library staff on the training of Library student employees -Collaborates with User Services Librarian and staff to develop student training materials -Trains student employees on customer service, circulation and related library activities -Participates in the assessment and review of User Services student employees -Participates in Library committees relating to student employment and training -Remains current on best practices on effective management of student employees Circulation Desk -Provides and maintains day-to-day operation of circulation services with excellent customer service -Ensures appropriate circulation and security of materials -Promotes library services and assists patrons in their use -Interprets, supports and contributes to the development of general policies and procedures of the library -Responds to a wide range of user questions and complaints, varying from routine to complex -Assists with troubleshooting basic, intermediate, and complex issues of library equipment, such as computers, printers and other equipment TO ENSURE CONSIDERATION: Applications received by August 2nd, 2024, are ensured full consideration.
