Westchester Jewish Community Services Counselor, Jewish Programs in White Plains, New York
Overview:
Westchester Jewish Community Services is seeking a Part-Time or Full-Time Counselor for our Jewish Programs division to provide support services including care management to populations including individuals and families facing life limiting and chronic illness, geriatric clients, individuals with developmental disabilities, caregivers and referrals from synagogues in the Partners in Caring program.
Compensation range for this position is $30 - $35 per hour.
Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Provide intake and information-gathering sessions with referred clients
Provide care management as needed
Conduct individual and group sessions as needed.
Provide support to synagogue staff as needed.
Offer support to groups including but not limited seniors, people with developmental disabilities, people with chronic illnesses, and caregivers.
Referrals to other needed services such as home health care or clinical services
Other duties as required.
Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who have the following qualifications:
Masters Degree in Social Work or related degree from accredited school, License preferred
Thorough knowledge of issues relating to ageing, family issues, illness, and end of life/bereavement
Ability to work with adults and families.
Good knowledge of community resources.
Experience and knowledge of the Jewish Community
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other professionals and social workers
