Job Title: Mechanic
Job Description
We are hiring skilled mechanics to build concrete pumping equipment. As a mechanic, you will read and interpret blueprints to assemble components for concrete pump trucks or trailers. This role involves performing a variety of mechanical assembly duties on prototype units, utilizing both hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to assemble concrete pump trucks or trailers.
Perform a variety of related mechanical assembly duties on prototype units.
Utilize hand and power tools to build each unit.
Follow engineering drawings and bills of materials.
Request parts from the Parts Department as required.
Lay out truck details per engineering prints on a job-by-job basis.
Perform final assembly of all units, including hoods, electric, lights, and stickers to customer specifications.
Install hydraulic lines and fill them with oil in preparation for required testing.
Prepare trucks for sub-frame assembly by disassembling, measuring, repositioning parts, installing parts, and re-assembling units by following procedures.
Test assembled parts or products to ensure they are functioning properly and are of good quality.
Comply with workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and procedures.
Maintain tools and the work space in good condition.
May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Experience with hydraulics, brake lines, chassis work, and blueprint reading.
Previous experience with heavy mechanical equipment.
Ability to learn and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Basic math knowledge.
Comfortable with lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must have own tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience with heavy mechanical equipment is preferred.
Ability to work overtime when needed.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a clean, loud environment with large booms, involving new manufacturing rather than service work. There are multiple bays for assembly and sub-assemblies, each equipped with a computer for parts ordering and blueprints. Mechanics will work around 35-40 other mechanics in the area. The facility includes separate buildings for welding, painting, and warehousing, with an outside yard between them. Mechanics must navigate computers and follow work instructions from the Build Book program.
