Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

Candidates will be responsible for packaging material according to general packing instructions. Some customers require customized packaging, so it is important that candidates can follow written directions accurately. After packaging, candidates must apply side bands securely to coils, a task for which training will be provided. Additionally, candidates will create coil identification tags by entering information into a computer and printing labels to be placed on the bands. Forklift operation to move material will be required for approximately 10% of the day. The remaining time will be spent packaging for 5-6 hours and keeping the work area clean by sweeping.

Responsibilities

• Package material according to general packing instructions

• Follow written directions for custom packaging as required by customers

• Apply side bands securely to coils

• Create coil identification tags by entering information into a computer and printing labels

• Operate a forklift to move material (approximately 10% of the day)

• Maintain cleanliness of the work area by sweeping

Essential Skills

• Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments

• Proficiency in packaging

• Ability to repetitively lift up to 60 lbs

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Material handling experience

• Forklift operation experience

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing setting that can be hot, loud, or dirty at times. Heat is provided in the winter, but there is no air conditioning in the summer.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wheeling, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
