Eversource Energy Supervisor, AMI Logistics & Strategy in Westwood, Massachusetts

Leads, directs, and supervises Eversource represented and non-represented employees and contractors engaged in the ordering, receipt, control and delivery of AMI related materials and equipment. This position is responsible for ordering necessary AMI materials/supplies/equipment/meters and the control of the Company’s inventory and associated records. This supervisory position is also responsible for prioritizing work and schedules to ensure commitments to AMI Operations and AMI Deployment are met.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership and supervises assigned staff to coordinate logistics, warehousing, trucking and other activities to ensure the ordering, receipt, acceptance, control and delivery of AMI materials and equipment.
  • Supervises and participates in the test, evaluation, purchase and acceptance of AMI devices and AMI replacement parts for Eversource. Maintains AMI supplier relations.
  • Evaluates new AMI equipment and materials, performs cost benefit studies and makes recommendations for consequent action.
  • Forecasts deployment and operations AMI material needs.
  • Provides overall direction and management of AMI logistics policies, procedures, and work practices and assists in the implementation of policies, procedures and work practices for AMI operations and AMI deployment.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in all areas of AMI warehousing, ordering, logistics, acceptance, and materials management.
  • Supervises implementation and maintenance of AMI supplies delivery schedule, as dictated by operations/deployment requirements.
  • Maintains currency with evolving AMI network and AMI metering technology.
  • Oversees the completion or a regulatory required transactions and controls, including SOX and Internal Audit compliance.
  • Administers a Departmental Safety Program and oversees the investigations of all personal injury, equipment failures, incidents including vehicle accidents and property damage in connection with warehouse activities.
  • Recommends and oversees the training programs for AMI logistics personnel to develop and enhance job skills and to ensure federal and state law compliance where required - driver training, environmental, etc.
  • Supervises and coordinates AMI logistics activities regarding proper identification and disposition of obsolete and surplus material.
  • Assists in handling labor relation issues relating to AMI logistics operations.
  • Analyzes and controls company financial budget including operations and maintenance, materials, overtime, and capital costs to include recommending opportunities to achieve financial goals and requirements.
  • Drives innovation and change in business processes by leading continuous process improvement efforts. Evaluates, develops, recommends, and implements changes in methods, procedures, and work practices.
  • Provides leadership and direction by ensuring assigned staff understands, and adheres to, business area work practices, procedures, rules and regulations, as well as corporate policies.
  • Oversees contractors and provides management for selected projects.
  • Maintains accurate records concerning the ordering, receipt, acceptance, storage, inventory and delivery of material and equipment.
  • Leads projects and organizes cross functional teams to develop process improvement recommendations.
  • Performs safety observations and administers safety programs ensuring assigned staff conducts daily tasks in a safe work environment.
  • Work expectations are in the event of work stoppages, emergency events, or project deadlines extended hours will be required beyond the 40-hour work week.

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Requires technical knowledge in distribution, metering, and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to use PC desktop applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project).
  • Experience with an inventory management technology a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience required.

Experience :

  • Five (5) plus in distribution or warehousing supervision / metering / management or related experience is required. Previous experience in a supervisory role is also preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • CDL A/B, state or federal hoisting license, fork truck, APICS certifications are desirable but not required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $112,000 - $125,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
