Maxar Intelligence is seeking a Software Engineering Manager of Streaming APIs & Scalability to join our Maxar Geospatial Platform Core team, which is based in Westminster, CO.

Job Description:

Maxar's MGP Core engineering team is growing and we're looking for aSoftware Engineering Manager of Streaming APIsto join Maxar in our innovative team and contribute to our Maxar Geospatial Platform initiative. This engineering team falls under Maxar's Customer Platforms and Insights organization, working on a unified platform powering applications used by all of Maxar's customers. We're looking for a manager that is inspired by mentoring a talented group of world-class engineers, scaling our development efforts, and partnering with product to ideate and deliver exceptional products

This position is located in Denver, Colorado or can be performed remotely. Candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Your Project:Lead development and oversee the execution of ourStreaming APIs & Scalability team. This engineering effort includes delivering Maxar APIs with high availability, performance, and scale. Delivering Maxar's industry leading geospatial data and analytics to our customers. You will work with cross-functional engineering leads on delivering roadmaps, understanding requirements, and building out the next generation platform for Maxar API products.

What you'll do day-to-day:

Work with Product Management to prioritize, scope and plan business milestones.

Build technical roadmaps to achieve business milestones.

Foster a positive engineering culture in line with Maxar's values.

Establish SLAs, governance processes, best practices and mitigation procedures across development lifecycle and sustainment for all API services

Ensure your team has the people needed to be successful.

Support timely delivery of engineering solutions to deliver business needs, while providing a transparent view to progress.

Actively coach and mentor team members in their careers.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance

Bachelor's degreein Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree

2 years of engineering management experience, or 2 years of proven tech leadership experience with the eagerness to take on more team building opportunities

Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience with software engineering experience. (A Masters degree may count for 2 additional years of experience)

Understands and has practiced agile software development and management

Familiar with RESTful API design for developer audience

Excellent grasp of software engineering principles, ability to guide and coach engineers

Demonstrated design skills for large scale, performant, and highly available cloud services or distributed systems

Has had exposure to multiple languages and frameworks as either an engineer or manager

Comfortable managing team members with different skill sets and technical areas of focus and expertise

Micro-serviceoriented architecture development experience and management
