Charles Schwab and Company, Inc. is hiring a(n) Sr Specialist, Software Development and Engineering (ref. Code 2024-104659 in Westlake, TX.

Duties: Plan, design, develop, and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products, including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Develop robust and scalable web services and APIs in alignment with business needs. Ensure secure and efficient data interchange between systems. Collaborate with business teams to understand and translate functional requirements into technical specifications. Coordinate with operations teams to ensure application stability and performance. Understand, advocate and augment the platform principles, guidelines and standards. Mentor junior team members in best practices and standards. Optimize report definition configuration and queries for performance to ensure data integrity. Utilize diagnostics tools for continuous monitoring and timely identification of performance issues. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies as part of self-organizing teams to create a plan for the Sprint deliverables, instill quality by adhering to a definition-of-done criteria and as a result turn requirements into production ready product, service, or system providing incremental business value. Position allows for 100% remote work. Reports to company HQs in Westlake, TX. Subject to Schwabs internal approach to workplace flexibility.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-Bachelors related experience, or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 3 years of experience. Related skills may be required.

We offer competitive pay and benefits. Starting compensation depends on related experience. Annual bonus and other eligible earnings are not included in the ranges above.
