Job Title: R&D Lab Technician

Job Description

• Support R&D department which focuses on NPD, cost, quality, supply assurance and operations support for our Auto care brands/ fragrances.

• Work within the R&D lab environment- testing new products – chemicals & components.

• Perform tests on components/chemicals as per the test plan provided by R&D engineers.

• Follow Standard Operating procedure (SOPs) & JSAs while conducting lab tests.

• Occasionally working with compressed air, nitrogen, and some aerosol products

• Adequately follow safety requirements and policies

• Conduct product quality checks by taking samples from production as per sampling plan provided by R&D technical staff.

• Help to ensure lab equipment and materials are organized and help with drafting of SOP/JSA.

• Data entry and update of the formulation information.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or pursuing a 4 year degree

• Experience working within a lab environment

• Proficient with utilizing lab tools and equipment

• Ability to manage multiple projects at once

• Ability to follow SOP efficiently

• Strong organizational skills (multi-task)

• Critical thinking skills

• Initiative and follow through

• Quick learner

• Proficient in using computers for data entry, preparing reports

• Good communication skills

• Maintain cross functional contacts to get tasks done (QC, operations, facilities, EHS, shipping and transportation)

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Westlake, Ohio.

Work Environment

The work environment is R&D for Energizer's Auto care line with a focus on fragrances and air fresheners. The start time is flexible between 7:30 and 8:30 am, from Monday to Friday, on the 1st shift. This role might require long periods of standing and working with fragranced products, hence, candidates with severe allergies are advised not to apply.
