POSITION SUMMARY Vertiv is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to support the performance, reliability, and lifecycle of our products through equipment upgrade and refurbishment programs. With the primary focus to sustain and enhance existing product lines by managing technical aspects of upgrades, refurbishments, and cost optimization. The Sustaining Engineer will also play a key role in the development of upgrade kits, cost analysis, and implementation. You will be expected to provide guidance and support with maintaining the depot repair power infrastructure and test equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES * Support product lifecycle by identifying opportunities for upgrades while ensuring they continue to meet customer expectations and technical standards. * Lead technical evaluations to assess the feasibility of product upgrades and refresh in a depot repair center. * Develop and refine processes for component recovery and recertification, with a strong understanding of PCBA and SMD processes. * Oversee technical requirements of a depot center ensuring equipment operability and testing validation. * Assist with the development of test scripts and setting up pass/fail criteria. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (offering, engineering, operation, procurement) to implement product upgrades and ensure technical alignment with current specifications and customer requirements. * Support and maintain the overall project cost plan and schedule including the field rollout plan. * Design and develop upgrade and refurbishment kits for the legacy products, ensuring kits contain all necessary parts and instructions for field assembly. * Oversee sourcing and procurement of components needed for product upgrades, ensuring all materials meet quality and availability standards. * Provide technical guidance and expertise to sales, offering, service, and operation. * Participate in the first article testing and evaluating feedback. * Drive improvements in upgrade and refurbishment processes within the depot repair operation. * Track and report on upgrade program progress, cost estimates, and timelines, providing updates to relevant stakeholders. * Ensure all product upgrades and refurbishments comply with industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies. * Develop upgrade kit bill of materials (BOM) and parts creation through Oracle PD Cloud. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required, Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferred. * 3+ years of experience in sustaining engineering, product lifecycle management, or a similar role within a manufacturing or product development environment. * Familiarity with critical data center electrical and mechanical equipment, such as Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and Thermal/HVAC products, is a plus. * Knowledge of electrical and mechanical components, including IGBTs, capacitors, compressors, motors, fans, and blowers. * Proficiency in interpreting electrical component specifications, technical drawings, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). * Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and without direct supervision. * Strong technical understanding of product lifecycle, equipment maintenance, and cost optimization strategies. * Proficiency with engineering tools (CAD software, project management tools) and familiarity with product data management (PDM) systems preferred. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills, with a focus on cost management and process optimization. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels.Apply here: https://www.aplitrak.com/?adid=YmJnZW5lcmljLjAzNDg3LjEwNTA4QHZlcnRpdmNvbXAuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t
