Your Impact at SAM
Designate all types of utilities in both rural and urban environments using geophysical equipment, field documentation, survey techniques, and vacuum excavation to expose utilities
Obtain and maintain all required safety certifications
Use standard surface geophysical equipment and specialized accessories to accurately designate public and private underground utilities for 2D QL-B (2DB) and 3D QL-B (3DB) mapping projects
Collect data and complete vault diagram forms for 2DB mapping projects
Operate VRS GPR survey equipment to gather horizontal data for 2DB mapping projects and QL-A test holes
Utilize automatic or digital levels to run level loops and collect QL-A data from exposed utilities in test hole excavations
Conduct utility pole inventories and overhead utility mapping
Implement approved traffic control plans for work performed outside travel lanes
Coordinate with internal survey crews in the field
Travel for extended periods as needed
What You Bring to SAM
High School Diploma or equivalency
Working knowledge of ASCE 38 guidelines and associated quality levels
Basic comprehension and interpretation of planimetric and design plans, profiles and cross sections, utility records, etc.
(1-2) years of SUE field experience required
Survey experience is a plus
