Your Impact at SAM
This position is responsible for overseeing the financial activities and project accounting oversight at the Region and Area levels. The role will report directly to the Vice President/Region Leader with a dotted line into the Chief Financial Officer. The role will support the Area Operations Directors and the Project Managers providing guidance, support and reporting on project performance and the overall profit and loss statement of the region. Additionally, the position will monitor daily the open accounts receivable and unbilled, driving the ongoing support of the PMs.

Establish and maintain relationships with Project Managers, Project Specialists and Ops Managers
Establish and maintain relationships with business clients and customers
Assist with presentations of finance and board of director meetings
Collaborate with the corporate financial organization including FP&A, Billing, Credit and Collections, Payroll and General Accounting
Assist the CFO as needed on special projects
Supervision over project level accounting and performance at the Region/Area Level
Project maintenance, compliance, and revenue recognition; working closely with Project Managers and Project Specialist
Billings, collections, and overall DSO (including escalation process); support and drive the billings and collections for the Region/Areas through the project management function with the PMs
Non labor project activity to include unit and non-labor (expenses, equipment); ensure capture reporting is adhered to for effective equipment utilization
Reconciliation of project level performance to “reported”
Assist in enforcing overall effective timesheet management
Ownership of reporting period performance review and active participation in budget/forecast compilation and review
Report and track/analyze KPI of the Region/Areas including ELM, NLM, OH multiplier, DSO (unbilled and AR), Gross Profit Margin
Conduct reporting period Actual v. Plan analysis and review and provide analysis to management (i.e. financial reviews) with the support of the corporate FP&A organization
Provide revenue and overall gross profit monthly forecast, working closely to develop and track with the Region/Area leaders and partnering with the Corporate FP&A organization
Assist areas within the region in the compilation and review of project expectations down to the project level (reasonableness, achievability, consistency, etc.)
Manage system enhancements within ERP Project Accounting System (SME on BST functionality)
Partner with and assist Financial Accounting and FPA teams to ensure accurate, effective, and timely reporting

Work closely with the business development/sales teams to understand customer needs and requirements
Travel within the region and US as a whole up to 25% of the time

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or related field required
7+ years in accounting, finance, operations management or related field
3+ years of similar service industry experience required
Experience in the A-E-C or related industry desired
Demonstrated competency of leadership and interpersonal skills
Experience with BST accounting systems or similar project-based accounting system is a very strong plus
Ability to work with all levels of employees within the organization as well as outside consultants and vendors
Proficiency in MS Word, Office, and Excel
Familiarity with PowerBI will be an asset
CPA license is a plus
