ASLI specializes in the machining of “build to print” complex structural components and highly complex assemblies for the aerospace industry. Today, we produce precision-machined and monolithic structural components and assemblies for a variety of programs, including the military aircrafts CH-47 Chinook, V-22 Osprey, CH-53K, E2D, and the F/A-18 Hornet fighters. Our commercial aircraft programs include the Boeing 767 and the Gulfstream G550 & G650.Job OverviewWe are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role will assist with the day to day shipping, receiving and delivery of parts, materials and supplies to our outside vendors and customers. Following is an overview of the position and you are encouraged to apply if this is a match to your background.The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse operations in Shipping and Receiving and Material Handing preferably in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace experience preferred. This position may require a fast-paced and demanding workload, so it is important for the candidate to be collaborative, self-motivated, organized, and hands-on.Position Summary:The Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties. Responsible individual will accept shipments and ships product by unloading, loading, and verifying shipments. Will load and unload trucks by hand or by use of lifts. Expedite movement of materials and parts from stock area to production areas. Packing parts /material and shipment of orders to customers. This individual will drive and operate the company van to transport parts and material, to and from outside suppliers, vendors and customers.Responsibilities- Package all shipments according to customers, industry, and company guidelines.- Prepare all necessary documentation’s (i.e., air bills, shipping labels, invoices).- Arrange for freight carrier pickups, as necessary.- Ships items by verifying identifying information, quantity, and condition of parts and supplies to be shipped; loading and protecting items.- Documents parts and/or supplies to be shipped by recording transport information and identifying data about items to be sent.- Ensures customer satisfaction by shipping adequately contained previously inspected parts to customers promptly and efficiently.- Receives items by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, and unpacking containers.- Receiving in Raw Material and Purchased Details.- Verifies parts and/or supplies received by inspecting the condition of items, comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list, and notes discrepancies.- Loads, unloads, and conveys various materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and performs a combination of tasks under specific direction.- Expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.- Transports various materials and parts using hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, or other devices; stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.- Will require operating forklift and driving company vehicle for pick up and deliveries.- May perform other tasks as required or assigned.- Local candidates only - no relocation provided.Requirements- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.- A minimum of Two (2) years in shipping/receiving required, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace experience preferred.- Requires valid driver’s license with no moving violations in the past three years (copy of DMV record required).- Must be able to pass DOT medical exam and maintain certifications as required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.- Forklift experience a required. Forklift Certification within 90 days of job entry date.- Requires experience with UPS, FedEx, and other company approved transportation companies.- Experience with pallet jacks and other types of material moving equipment.- Maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments using computer-based inventory system.- Experience using ERP systems preferred.- Must be able to read, interpret and apply manufacturing instructions, safety requirements, quality assurance guidelines and training materials.- Work may also require bending, carrying, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing, and the utilization of written communication skills.
