What you’ll do
The IT Support Specialist is an IT professional who is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of HPI’s IT service desk, including assigning and prioritizing daily tasks, ensuring tickets are handled efficiently and in a timely manner. Provide hands-on support for laptop and desktop computers, servers, switches, printers, phones, security updates and internet. In addition to the service desk responsibilities, the IT Support Specialist also work with end-users to troubleshoot issues and provide technical support and training. The IT Support Specialist position reports to the CISO to ensure that a successful implementation of a Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA Triad) strategy is deployed on all of HPI’s technical infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll also:
Ensure proper service delivery for all Help Desk tickets
Provide an enhanced support level to Help Desk staff for escalated issues.
Troubleshoot system hardware, software, operating and system management.
Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
Manage system access to various applications.
Manage HPI's hybrid-based infrastructure.
Manage hardware for servers, endpoints, storage systems and networking equipment.
Manage system file access/transfer, backup, and recovery.
Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups.
Partake in extended hour/weekend coverage on call rotation monthly.
Provide assistance to personnel in other departments as an IT Resource.
Implement and adhere to all Health Plans, Inc. Policies and Procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
What you bring
High School Diploma or equivalent education
Proven ability to learn and develop technical systems relevant to technical infrastructure.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows server systems functions (DNS, Active Directory, SharePoint, IIS, One Drive, Azure, Remote Desktop Services, SQL and Email systems)
Strong understanding of virtual environments (Oracle, VMWare)
Strong understanding of hybrid environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
Understanding of email filtering systems
Experience managing VPN’s (Citrix, FortiGate, RDS)
Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN)
Strong understanding of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
Proven ability to work with little supervision either alone or in a team environment.
