Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Human Resources (HR) who possesses strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of Human Resources practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, payroll administration, onboarding/offboarding, benefit management, HR reporting and auditing, leave management, and compliance. The Manager of HR is responsible for working cohesively and in liaison with the Vice President of Human Resources in developing, implementing and maintaining operational functions of the HR team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee aspects of HR, including but not limited to employee relations, benefits administration, 401(k) administration, performance management, compliance, auditing, leave management, procedures/policies, and reporting
Develop and implement streamlined procedures to enhance employee capabilities within the HRIS
Provide guidance on goal setting, career development, and employee growth
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) activities
Implement policies and procedures to foster a positive and inclusive work environment
Develop data collection and reporting tools relative to federal and state regulations
Review and revise current procedures and policies to ensure up-to-date and accurate information is disseminated
Work alongside the Payroll Team to prepare for bi-weekly pay cycles
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
Manage ongoing Human Resources audits (including NDT, AA, EEO, etc.)
Advise leadership on HR best practices and workforce planning
Oversee daily work for up to two members of the current HR team
Experience and Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience
Eight or more years of management experience within an HR team
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred
Proficiency in HRIS software, preferably ADP Workforce Now
Knowledgeable in areas of Human Resources including employee relations, benefits, HRIS, employment laws, and compliance
Ability to interact with staff and management in a way that fosters, trust, confidence, respect
Ability to be flexible and empathetic to the needs of others
Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to work both independently and as a member of the management team
Ability to multi-task efficiently and accurately
Must be detailed, analytical and accurate
Recognize and maintain confidentiality of work materials as appropriate
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
