Job Description

The Analyst II will deliver insights that help guide business decisions and support go-forward strategies. The Analyst II will work on projects that range from segmentation and targeting initiatives to repair trending and data visualization/dashboarding creation. The Analyst II will enjoy figuring out how to automate solutions in applications such as Salesforce.com, SAP Business Objects, Power BI, and Qlik. The Analyst II will leverage all BI Tools available including the development of custom solutions that may involve SQL, VBA, and other programing languages. This role will be a member of the MSG Sales Operations team at Olympus, which is comprised of four groups: Professional Services, Analytics & Reporting, Salesforce Enablement, and Compensation Effectiveness. All of these teams are bound together through a mission to turn data into actionable insights that our internal and external customers can use to make better decisions.

Job Duties

  • Work cross functionally with multiple groups, including Field Service and Marketing, as well as members of the Analytics & Reporting team, to develop reports and dashboards that support go-forward strategies. This includes collecting and evaluating data that will help sales and service teams increase productivity.

  • Document, design, and develop reporting and analytics solutions using available tools such as SAP Business Objects, Power BI, and Qlik.

  • Develop a detailed understanding of data structures and master data concepts in order to better support the business.

  • Gather and provide results to key stakeholders in order to support informed business decisions by providing in-depth analysis and recommendations.

  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards for both internal business partners and external Olympus customers.

  • Educate users regarding the functional use of analyses, reports, and other tools.

  • Report on key metrics and KPIs to stakeholders.

  • Build automated solutions in business intelligence tools such as Qlik and Power BI that provide creative and insightful views of data.

  • Understand relationships between front end applications and data repositories. Ensure quality of the source information/data that is relied upon by management in their decision making.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is required · Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

  • With a bachelor’s Degree: minimum of 3 years of experience is required, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, financial service, insurance industries or repair/manufacturing analytics. With a Master’s Degree: minimum of 1 year of experience is required, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, financial service, insurance industries or repair/manufacturing analytics.

  • Experience with Microsoft Applications (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Access) is required.

  • Ability to travel domestically if projects require.

Preferred:

  • Relational database/SQL experience highly desired.

  • Report development experience in Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or SAP Business Objects is ideal.

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Self-directed individual with ability to multi-task on concurrent projects.

  • Ability to convert analytical findings to business outcomes so that they are clear and concise to any audience.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, results-driven.
