Eversource’s Co-Op programs deliver students with the opportunity to apply both classroom and prior experience learning to real life application. Co-Ops will participate in hands-on project work, field site visits, mentoring sessions with office leadership, office activities, and virtual events with fellow interns and staff throughout the organization. The Customer Thermal Solutions Team within Gas Operations is looking for a student to join their team for a cooperative learning experience. This position supports the Customer Thermal Solutions Team by observing and participating in assignments with guidance from a Customer Thermal Solutions Team member. The Co-Op will be partnered with the team to assist in facilitating customer requests for new natural gas service and/or other offerings such as networked geothermal.

Co-ops will assist the group in the following duties:

• Gains an understanding of new construction, conversions and load addition projects including main extensions and processing of new business requests, including:

• Estimating consumption and revenues for commercial and residential single family, sub-divisions, and condominium and apartment complexes.

• Interfacing and building relationships with architects, engineers and building managers to clarify loads and scope of projects. Obtain and evaluate site plans.
• Preparing customers’ gas requests and working with construction and engineering for installation costs and requirements. Creates load sheets and update systems with customer and rate information.
• Running financial model to determine project profitability. Negotiating customer requirements including customer digging, backfilling and Contribution In Aid of Construction (CIAC) in order to close sales.
• Working with Legal on language and provisions for non-standard contracts.
• Advising customers on the availability, benefits, application, pricing options and service installation procedures for natural gas and/or other offerings such as networked geothermal.
• Develops and/or reviews process modifications with Customer Thermal Solutions.
• Gains knowledge of Customer Thermal Solutions customer facing contracting process and related supporting activities that include communication, engineering, planning, scheduling, construction, and metering.
• Assists in developing and/or reviewing project economic justifications as necessary to support projects.

Student should be working towards a degree in Business, Project Management, Construction, or Engineering.
