Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role will support the entire plant. Individuals must be able to work independently and be self-motivated. They will provide overall Electrical/Mechanical support in facility and equipment maintenance to minimize equipment/process downtime through effective troubleshooting of problems and preventative maintenance; all while ensuring the safe operation of all equipment/tools. This is an industrial environment and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs, work in various positions standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing stairs/ladders, as well as work in various weather conditions is required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment as necessary (Hydraulic Presses, Conveyors, Mixing machines, etc.).

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems throughout the operation to minimize downtime.

• Support Robotic Control Systems.

• Troubleshoot Electrical systems using required 70E PPE and safe work practices. This requires the knowledge and use of PLC’s, Digital Multimeters, Meggers, and all available Electrical testing equipment.

• Assist in the implementation of capital projects.

• Participate in the improvements of plant equipment to maximize productivity.

• Ensure accurate completion of all necessary paperwork and/or documentation including PM forms, Time log, SAP work orders, Inventory system, etc.

• Safely perform all job tasks assigned complying with company procedures and safety policy.

• Continually update personal skill set to keep up with technology advancements.

These are night shift positions:

Mon-Fri - 10:30pm to 6:30am - working every other weekend Sat/Sun 6:30pm to 6:30am - Days off during the week to make up for weekend worked.

Training will be on day shift for the first 120 days - 6:30am-2:30pm

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in York, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

There will be brick dust, oil, gas, and other smells and materials that will leave the Associate covered in dirt by the end of a shift. There is also a significant amount of lifting and labor involved due to the environment. Maintenance Technicians will be expected to collaborate with Press Operators, other technicians, and other employees to troubleshoot problems in order to get them repaired quickly so that operations will run smoothly. The Maintenance department is made up of about 50-60 Technicians, but the plant is very large and there is always work to be done. Some of the machines are very large. For example, they may be required to troubleshoot and repair/rebuild a Hydraulic press with 1000 valves. Most days the breakdown will be 60% Mechanical and 40% Electrical. In general, it is hot in summer and cold in winter. Dusty, dirty brick plant with large-scale hydraulic press machinery. Safety is #1 priority. Company uniform provided. Hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, safety gloves provided. Ankle-high, leather Steel toe boots with Metatarsal Guards required.
