We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team based in West Springfield, Massachusetts. This role involves a variety of tasks related to insurance verifications, prior authorizations, and medical billing in the healthcare industry. You'll have the opportunity to apply your strong communication skills, collaboration abilities, and coding knowledge in a dynamic workplace environment.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain prior authorizations and referrals as required for procedures

• Check benefits for patients through insurance providers and explain these to patients

• Ensure all insurance verifications are completed for patients prior to appointments

• Stay up-to-date with changes in medical coding and insurance policies

• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient billing operations

• Work independently on tasks while maintaining high quality work

• Communicate effectively with medical professionals, patients, and insurance companies

• Utilize medical billing software to input and manage patient records

• Assist in resolving any billing discrepancies or errors

• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Requirements • Must possess strong Communication Skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.

• Collaboration and Teamwork are essential skills for coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth operations.

• Proficiency in Coding is required to accurately translate diagnoses and treatments into billing codes.

• Knowledge of Referrals is necessary to understand and process medical referrals from healthcare professionals.

• Demonstrated expertise in Medical Billing, including understanding of billing procedures, policies, and regulations.

• Experience with Insurance Verifications to confirm patients' insurance coverage and benefits.

• Ability to handle Prior Authorizations, including submitting and tracking authorization requests to insurance providers.
