Robert Half Purchasing Accountant in West Seneca, New York

Description

Jenny Bour with Robert Half is seeking a Purchasing Accountant to join a growing team located in West Seneca, New York! This role Purchasing Accountant will involve various accounting and purchasing functions, including inventory analysis, product cost updates, and vendor communication. The successful Purchasing Accountant candidate will be adept at utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools and will play a significant part in the company's financial operations. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular product cost reviews and updates to understand impacts on margins and profits

  • Perform thorough inventory analysis and manage cycle counting

  • Liaise with vendors to determine quantity and timing of raw material deliveries and ensure in-stock position of products

  • Assist with monthly financial statement reporting, with a focus on inventory and scrap

  • Utilize our ERP/Accounting system proficiently and supplement with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Email

  • Carry out account analysis of income, expenses, assets, and liabilities

  • Collaborate with various team members in the organization, including the sales team, traffic/logistics, quality control, manufacturing plant leads

  • Identify and resolve problems, streamlining processes where necessary

  • Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently

  • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary

    Requirements

  • Experience working in an ERP system

  • 3+ years of experience with purchasing in a manufacturing company is preferred

  • Strong understanding of Accounting Functions

  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work output

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
