Summary

Our company has an immediate opening forScreed OperatorinWest Palm Beach.As aScreed Operator, you will play a crucial role in our paving operations, ensuring the smooth and precise laying of asphalt and other paving materials. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in delivering top-notch paving services to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate Screed Controls:Manage the screed controls to ensure the proper depth, grade, and finish of asphalt and other paving materials.
  • Monitor Material Flow:Ensure a consistent and even flow of material from the hopper to the screed, adjusting as necessary to maintain a smooth surface.
  • Quality Control:Continuously monitor the paving process to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications and standards.
  • Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance on the screed and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Safety Compliance:Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Communication:Work closely with the paving crew, foreman, and project superintendent to coordinate efforts and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Troubleshooting:Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the paving process to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Other job duties as assigned per on-site supervisor.

Requirements:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Experience:3-5 years of experience as a Screed Operator in paving operations.
  • Knowledge:understanding of paving techniques, materials, and equipment operation.
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in operating screed controls and performing basic equipment maintenance.
  • Attention to Detail:Ability to maintain precise control over the screed to achieve the desired finish and quality.
  • Physical Stamina:Capability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, pushing, pulling, twisting, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting and reaching.Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Team Player:communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Safety Awareness:Commitment to following safety guidelines and promoting a culture of safety on the job site.
  • Testing: Must pass a drug andphysical test and criminal background.
