    $ 33,760.00 - $35,028.76 Annually $ 1,298.46 - $1,347.26 Bi-weekly

    Position Summary

    This is a professional position that works in the Medical Waiver Work Stream in APD’s Southeast Region. This position will support managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication and will also assist with diverse projects and provide general administrative support.

    The Work You Will Do

  • Provides administrative support to ensure efficient office operations.

  • Maintains physical and digital filing systems.

  • Answers phone calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel, schedules appointments, signs for incoming packages, and assists clients and other visitors.

  • Drafts and edits letters, reports, and other documents.

  • Inputs and updates information in databases and spreadsheets.

  • Prepares meeting agendas and takes meeting minutes.

  • Operates and maintains office equipment, including printers, copiers, and fax machines.

  • Works closely with other administrative staff and supports other colleagues as needed.

  • Works with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security and ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations.

  • Ensures that deadlines are met and adapts to changing priorities.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Two years’ experience working as an Administrative Assistant preferred.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Programs, Outlook, Word, Excel and databases.

  • Two years’ experience in providing excellent customer service preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

    Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively and provide exceptional customer service.

  • Use Microsoft Office Programs including Outlook, Word, & Excel.

    As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

    Background Screening Requirement

    It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
