Job Description Summary

As a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Bearing, you will provide advanced manufacturing engineering support for the Electric Ave X-Ray Tubes facility. You will lead a variety of product quality and capacity projects ranging from product design changes, process development/stabilization, and new equipment design focused primarily on the tube spiral groove bearing assembly. Experience in process intensive manufacturing is preferred (examples: cleaning, metrology, physical vapor deposition, high precision assemblies).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure early focus on manufacturability in product design and/or Advanced Technology programs. Drive rigor in process capability assessment, process design, tooling, and equipment development.

  • Work with manufacturing to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment, and product design.

  • Identify and deploy breakthrough technologies that can be leveraged to reduce lead time, improve quality, or reduce cost.

  • Support AME and Engineering initiatives with wide business impact and ensure best practice sharing across the Global Supply Chain.

  • Technical expert responsible for driving high-impact business initiatives that deliver technology, functional/process improvement, platforms, and innovation.

  • Provide leadership to achieve process/product quality through technical reviews and incorporating lean and design practices into our processes and designs.

  • Coaches, mentors and develops the engineering community in process, career growth and technical excellence.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical, Material Science, or related technical degree from an accredited college/university.

  • Minimum 15 years of engineering experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • 6-sigma black belt certified

  • Experience working in process intensive manufacturing, including: cleaning, metrology, physical vapor deposition, high precision assemblies, welding processes

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, all levels of the organization

  • Experience building, empowering, and leading talented cross functional teams

  • Strong Program Management and communication skills

  • Ability to build and promote organizational change management initiatives

  • Proven ability to simplify strategy into simple actions

  • Demonstrated ability to make decision effectively and create focus

  • Leader who has the vision and courage to pursue big ideas, encourage smart experimentation, and innovation to solve complex process issues.

  • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
