Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Cybersecurity Operations Center team. The successful candidate will work in a technically diverse and dynamic environment with a team of Cybersecurity professionals responsible for all aspects of the IT environment supporting the needs of the Naval Reactors Program. The successful candidate will be involved in multiple aspects of supporting and managing enterprise cybersecurity tools. If you want to apply your skills in a mission-driven environment, apply now! Some roles and responsibilities are: *  Perform real-time monitoring and response of security tools (SIEM, IDS, IPS, Firewalls, EDR, etc.), networks, and systems (servers, clients, etc.) to identify potential security incidents, threats and vulnerabilities. *  Perform incident triage and investigation to help defend against and respond to potential incidents. *  Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts, engineers and other teams within the organization to enhance the overall security posture. *  Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution on security equipment and systems. *  Reliably and professionally represent cybersecurity on cross-functional IT project teams. *  Support a 24x7 Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Preferred Skills

  •  Basic knowledge of various security related methodologies, processes, and technical security solutions (e.g. Threat hunting, phishing attacks, data loss prevention, log analysis, SOAR, and SIEM administration).
  •  Basic understanding of cloud security technologies (e.g. Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Azure Automation, Azure Policy, etc.).
  •  Basic knowledge of two or more of the following security concepts: o  Intrusion Prevention Systems o  SIEM o  EDR/XDR o  Firewalls o  Malware Analysis o  Digital Forensics o  Incident Response o  Computer operating system and networking concepts and exploitation methods
  •  Previous experience within Cybersecurity or IT.
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  •  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  •  Works well in a team environment and independently.
  •  Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  •  Strong customer service attitude.

Pay Range $62,000.00 - $94,900.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
