Novo Nordisk Senior Accountant in West Lebanon, New Hampshire

The Position

Responsible for supporting the site in maintenance of our house in order by maintaining financial compliance through a strong internal control environment as well as supporting the licensing, tax (direct & indirect), cash & reporting functions. Acts as primary liasion with US Headquarters for tax and treasury related matters.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures accurate & timely performance of internal controls & maintenance of all control documentation

  • Direct internal & external audits to ensure compliance & House in Order

  • Oversight of New Hampshire transaction accounting

  • Support the site in insurance renewals, annual state licensing, tax (indirect & direct), leases, fixed assets, & completion of annual questionnaire

  • Month End/Year End closing coordinator

  • Preparation of cash forecasting & loan schedules

  • Process improvements/offshoring of accounting & finance processes to ensure efficient & compliant operations

  • Participate in & support project work related to accounting & finance

  • System owner and Super User for related finance systems

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes

  • Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others

    Physical Requirements

    0-10% overnight travel required. While performing this job employee work involves sitting most of the time with walking and standing required only occasionally. This position may lift up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetition including substantial movement of wrists, hands, and or fingers. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication.

    Qualifications

  • Education and Certifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education & experience required

  • Master’s Degree Preferred

  • Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of financial accounting or equivalent experience required

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of financial accounting or equivalent experience preferred

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong ERP skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills

  • Proven process improvement skills/ability to lead departmental process improvement projects

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to self-prioritize & organize work based on priorities

  • Ability to execute standard work routinely & effectively

  • Excellent organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines

  • Challenge other areas respectfully and constructively as needed
