Aston Carter Payroll Specialist in West Hollywood, California

Job Title: Payroll SpecialistJob Description

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and ad-hoc payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner. This role involves calculating wages, deductions, bonuses, and other adjustments as per company policies and regulations. The Payroll Specialist will also ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and ad-hoc payroll accurately and on time.

  • Calculate wages, deductions, bonuses, and other adjustments according to company policies.

  • Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy.

  • Enter tips and service charges into Paycom and ensure daily reconciliation.

  • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management promptly and professionally.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports, summaries, and analyses to management as needed.

  • Make bi-weekly and semi-monthly 401K contributions.

  • Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

  • Assist in year-end payroll processing and reporting, including W-2 preparation.

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues and improve processes.

  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and sensitive employee data.

  • Assist with accounts payable (approx. 30% of time).

  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing and administration.

  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now).

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with accounts payable.

  • Experience with payroll for approximately 200 employees.

Work Environment

This position is on-site in an open forum setting. The Payroll Specialist will report to the HR and Director of Finance. The role offers autonomy in processes and opportunities for growth within the company.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00
