What you will do

In this vital role you will be responsible for management and delivery of direct patient care at the Occupational Health Clinic based in Providence, Rhode Island, along with oversight of 3 additional locations. As an integrated member of the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team the Director of Occupational Health will support EHS initiatives to enhance health, promote injury prevention, and drive wellbeing through clinical leadership. The preferred candidate will be an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) with business acumen and strong people leadership skills.

  • Oversee the delivery of occupational health services, including injury and illness prevention, health promotion, and disability management.

  • Deliver advanced practice nurse practitioner care.

  • Develop and implement occupational health policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage a team of occupational health professionals, providing guidance, support, and management.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including HR, EHS, and site leadership, to ensure the integration of occupational health initiatives into company operations.

  • Monitor and analyze safety and health indicators, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including OSHA and workers' compensation.

  • Manage the budget for occupational health services, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Maintain compliance with ethical, legal, professional requirements, and corporate policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years o f Occupational Health experience OR

  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Occupational Health experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Occupational Health experience OR

  • Master’s degree and 4 years of Occupational Health experience OR

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Occupational Health

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience as a nurse practitioner in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department setting.

  • Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license.

  • Current furnishing license.

  • Current DEA license.

  • Current CPR/BLS Certification.

  • Experience and knowledge of workers compensation, case management, OSHA regulations, and maintaining OSHA records.

  • Experience with audiometry and spirometry.

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records.

  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety principles.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
