If you or someone you know is interested in hearing more please send all resumes to [email protected] for immediate consideration.Job Title:Industrial Hygiene (IH) / Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) SpecialistDepartment:Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)Reports to:Director of EHSLocation:West Deptford, NJ (onsite)Role Overview:The IH/EHS Specialist is a key player in ensuring the safety and compliance of our clients USA's operations. This role involves a hands-on approach to maintaining and enhancing EHS standards across the facility, with a focus on industrial hygiene and safety program development.Key Responsibilities:Develop and enforce EHS policies and programs, focusing on industrial hygiene and safety.Offer industrial hygiene support, including sampling and solution identification, and oversee health and safety initiatives.Tackle complex EHS challenges with innovative and analytical problem-solving.Set objectives and devise methods for new EHS projects.Engage in the implementation of ISO standards.Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NJDEP regulations through proactive plant floor engagement and corrective action planning.Collaborate with the Environmental Engineer to evaluate environmental impact assessments.Manage hazardous waste operations, including characterization, inspections, and personnel training.Conduct industrial hygiene projects, such as air and water quality testing and indoor environment assessments.Execute environmental compliance audits, including:DPCC/SPCC inspections.Permit compliance reviews for air and water.Waste storage and disposal oversight.Chemical and pollution control equipment checks.Participate in incident investigations and monitor the progress of corrective measures.Assist with EHS planning, safety inspections, and sampling strategies.Analyze environmental data and recommend compliance strategies.Actively participate in safety training sessions and meetings.Uphold a culture of safety and ethical compliance in all job functions.Maintain a secure working environment and perform additional duties as needed.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneQualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry).At least 5 years of experience in EHS roles, with a focus on environmental and safety auditing, and industrial hygiene.Proficient in data analysis and management.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Experience with EHS management software.Knowledgeable about interactions and compliance with regulatory bodies like OSHA, EPA, and NJDEP.Core Competencies:Build and sustain professional relationships within and outside the organization.Thrive independently and as part of a team in dynamic, deadline-driven situations.Detail-oriented with a self-driven approach to achieving goals.Strong technical writing abilities and effective communication skills.Organized, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects efficiently.Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Physical Requirements:Ability to remain seated for prolonged periods.Thank you,Amanda Alburger | [email protected]Professional RecruiterApex SystemsEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
