JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Position Location: Penn State Extension – Chester County, Chester County Government Center, 601 Westtown Rd Ste 370, West Chester, PA 19380
Position Goal:
Support the Chester County 4-H team in providing high quality positive youth development program experiences for new youth audiences.
Position Responsibilities:
Work with the Chester County 4-H team and identified community collaborators to plan, deliver and evaluate local 4-H school, afterschool, and summer programs for youth. Support the introduction and long-term offering of new project areas such as STEM, robotics, computer science. Support 4-H program marketing and promotion for outreach to new youth audiences across Chester County. Assist in the procurement of financial and material donations for use at programs. Serve as a member of the 4-H staff team providing support to the general 4-H program as requested. Assist the 4-H Extension Educator in reaching new audiences in accordance with the Penn State University Affirmative Action Policy.
Basic Skills Required:
Possess an understanding of youth development and be able to effectively teach and interact with youth. Possess knowledge of educational principles and presentation preparation skills. Familiarity with the 4-H Program, especially STEM programs, is preferred. Relevant experience and/or completed or be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in youth development, education, science, engineering, volunteer development or another related field. Possess good communication skills needed for group presentations and individual communication with members, parents, leaders, teachers and agency staff. Possess organizational and record keeping skills. Possess computer skills for creating documents and marketing pieces.
This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Time Requirements:
Year round, 15-20 hours/week
